Donington Red ~
1999 & 2001 |
|
Donington
Red is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Merlot
that is aged in American Oak. The grape proportions vary
each year depending on the yield of the various
component grapes.
1999 shows predominant cool climate Cabernet Sauvignon
characters while the warmer summer of 2001 has allowed
the Shiraz to develop and thus the rich spicy flavours
of that grape are more evident in the younger of these
red wines.
Both wines will age well in the medium term. |

Riesling ~
2003
|
|
The 2003
vintage suited Riesling production in Port Lincoln. The
winter was cold and wet and the summer warm and dry.
These grapes were picked in late March 2003 and show
citrus and lime characters with a clean acid finish that
is drinking well now but will also reward those who are
happy to wait for the development of complex aromatic
characters in the wine in the next 2-3 years. |

Chardonnay

One of our new releases, the 2003 vintage Chardonnay has
spent 12 months in contact with delicate French Oak before
bottling in June 2004 and shows fresh peach and melon
flavours integrated with soft oak tannins.
This is a wine to be enjoyed with food and/or intimate
moments. |

The 1997
Chardonnay is a special release of a back vintage that has
been sitting quietly in the dark.
Not to all tastes, this wine has aged with dignity and the
smoky oak overtones are in delicate harmony with the subdued
chardonnay fruit characters of this older style wine. |
